Gravel Driveways & Pads in Winnipeg

New gravel driveways, parking pads, and shed and garage pads, built on an excavated, compacted base so they stay firm and drain properly for years.

  • Excavated & compacted base
  • Crowned to drain
  • Rural & city properties

Built from the base up

A Gravel Driveway That Lasts

A good gravel driveway is not just gravel dumped on the grass. It starts with removing the topsoil and soft material, building a compacted granular base, and finishing with a crowned surface course so water runs off instead of soaking in.

Terrace Excavation builds new gravel driveways and pads for homes, acreages, farms and businesses around Winnipeg. We supply the material, bring the equipment, and compact each layer so the finished driveway holds up to daily traffic.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How thick should a gravel driveway be?

It depends on the soil and the traffic. Most driveways need a compacted base layer plus a surface layer. We confirm the depth after looking at your site.

What kind of gravel do you use?

Typically a compactable crushed base under a crushed surface gravel that locks together. We can talk through options if you want a particular look.

Can you add a culvert where the driveway meets the road?

Yes. If your driveway crosses a ditch we can install the culvert as part of the job. Your municipality may need to approve it.

Do you fix existing gravel driveways too?

Yes. See our driveway regrading page for potholes, ruts and standing water.
