Trenches Dug to Depth, Backfilled Properly
Utility trenching is one of the fastest-growing parts of our work. Contractors and property owners call us when they need a trench dug to the right depth and grade, with the bedding and backfill done properly so the line is protected and the surface does not settle later.
We work as a subcontractor to electrical, plumbing and mechanical contractors, and directly for property owners who need new service lines run to a building, shop or yard.
Common trenching work
- Water and sewer service connections
- Electrical and telecom conduit runs
- Gas line trenching for licensed fitters
- Drain tile and storm lines

Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you call in utility locates?
Yes. Locates are requested before any trenching starts and we dig carefully around marked lines.
Do you install the pipe or cable?
We dig, bed and backfill the trench. The pipe or cable itself is usually installed by your licensed plumber, electrician or gas fitter, and we coordinate timing with them.
How deep can you trench?
It depends on the line and the soil. Tell us what is going in the trench and the depth required and we will confirm the right equipment.
Will the trench settle afterwards?
We backfill in lifts and compact as we go to keep settling to a minimum, and we restore the surface when the work is done.
